and I’m already feeling overwhelmed.
Most of us juggle a tremendous number of balls each and every day -- many are simply so overloaded we tune out some of the things over which we have no control and choose to focus on things over which we have SOME control.
It’s become obvious to me that, for many, one of those things is politics: it’s so damned hard to know who’s doing what to whom, and why, and for what gain. We are bombarded with pundits who prognosticate and bloviate and lie and shade the truth, and how many of us take the time to actually check the facts? Especially when the kids are home sick with the flu, you just got a notice from the water company that rates are going up 10% and your insurer just denied your claim?
But politics is so much more personal -- and so much more important -- than who’s sleeping with Tiger or who’s been voted out on Idol.
