The women in Congo - victims of gang rape in a vicious, long-running war - have been detailed by Nicholas D. Kristof in The New York Times for a very long time now (he’s one of the few editorial writers in the U.S. to pay any attention to the situation there) and his latest article speaks to both roles vividly.
